Ikoyi partners with Uber Eats to offer 'UK's cheapest two-star menu'

London’s Ikoyi has partnered with Uber Eats to offer what is claimed to be the UK’s cheapest two Michelin-starred menu.

Created by executive chef Jeremy Chan, the five-course menu features the creative, spice-based restaurant’s original take on Jollof rice and will be available for two days only.

Priced at £60, the menu will be available for Uber One members based in central London on 10 May and for all Uber Eats customers on 11 May.

There is also a drinks pairing available for £25 that features two cocktails, an Eko Lager and a soft drink.

The £60 price tag - which does not include Uber Eat's service and delivery charge - undercuts Aktar Islam’s Opheem restaurant in Birmingham, which offers a lunch menu for £65.

Earlier this year Claude Bosi’s Brooklands restaurant in London launched a £58 set lunch menu designed to be served within 60 minutes. At the time of writing it is unclear whether this menu is still available.

The project marks the second time Uber Eats has worked with a two-star chef to make their food available on the platform for a limited time.

Last year, the delivery giant partnered with Ynyshir’s Gareth Ward to offer a £200, 10-course menu designed for two people to share.

“I often enjoy delivery food at home myself when I’m not working. When Uber Eats approached us, we were delighted to partner with them and share some of the tastes and flavours of Ikoyi for people to enjoy at home for the first time,” Chan says.

Uber Eats general manager for the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe added: “We created our Uber Eats Hosts series to bring some of the nation’s best, and often hard-to-access, restaurants to our customers. After the success of Ynyshir, we are so excited to bring Ikoyi on board in the next stage of our series. This menu is truly incredible and this will be the only chance to taste it!”
