INDEPENDENT Glasgow-based hotel group McKever has taken over a leading establishment in one of Scotland`s most popular wedding venues.
McKever snapped up The Gables in Gretna Green in a deal worth more than £2million, according to BBc Scotland.
The company sees the 31-room, four-star hotel as a key addition to its ever-growing portfolio of wedding venues in Scotland and the north of England.
A spokesman for the group told the BBC they believed the location was perfect to attract business from both sides of the border as well as overseas.
A total of 54 couples got married in Gretna Green on Valentines day last week, while over the course of the year around 5,000 wedding ceremonies grace the town..
