London takeaway sushi bar Me Love Sushi is branching out into the casual dining scene with its first restaurant opening in Swiss Cottage, London this week.
The restaurant itself is designed to offer an informal eat-in experience where food ordered at the bar is freshly made and served at communal tables. The interior has taken elements of Japanese themes and designs with reds, blacks and whites dominating the 44-cover space.
Upstairs meanwhile, is the Me Love Sushi Champagne and Sake Bar, which again provides seating for 44 people in a chic space decorated with black leather banquettes and stools, and a feature sake and champagne bottle wall. The bar itself will serve a range of champagnes, sakes, saketinis and Japanese snacks.
Dishes on the menu include a selection of sashimi, nigiri and rolls, and one-bowl noodle and rice dishes. Specialities include black cod with miso sonburi, soft shell crab temaki (hand roll), and the phoenix futomaki (large roll with sliced salmon, tuna, seabass, cucumber and flying fish roe fried in tempura batter).
The Sushi To Go restaurant and bar in Swiss Cottage also offers its To Go menu, along with a free order and delivery service within a two-mile radius. Plans are underway to open further sites in Marble Arch, Islington, Maida Vale and Bromley in the near future, but it is as yet unclear whether they will be restaurant or takeaway outlets.
