Bristol chefs Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias from Casamia and Louise McCrimmon from Harvey Nichols have been helping to promote cooking skills in three local Bristol schools.
The chefs judged the final of a MasterChef-style contest, the opening round of which saw 150 children, all aged 11-14, cooking and photographing food at home. The best chefs from each school then cooked off against each other in the final, creating a two-course meal in an hour and a half.
“The quality of the food, the passion, interest and the unwavering focus of the children bowled me over,” said Jonray Sanchez-Iglesias.
The prize for the winner of each age group was a six-course tasting menu for two at Casamia and an opportunity to watch the Sanchez-Iglesias brothers cooking in their kitchen.
