Restaurants, hotels and pubs, including Dean Street Townhouse and Tamarai, tell us about the extra activities they're planning to make their businesses more appealing.

After school tea-time

Dean Street Townhouse Dining Room also in Soho has launched a traditional afternoon tea menu plus a more retro high tea menu featuring 1970s after-school classics. While the afternoon tea menu will feature finger sandwiches, cakes and buttered crumpets, the Dining Room's high tea menu will consist of fish fingers and chips with tartare sauce, macaroni cheese, pork pies with piccalilli and sausage rolls. Head chef Stephen Tonkin said the retro menu was designed to evoke memories of eating a substantial meal straight after school.

Riverboat cruise

Von Essen's Cliveden House hotel in Berkshire is offering a 'Long Leisurely Lunch' promotion for parties of four or more until the end of September. Starting with a welcome glass of Champagne or Pimms on arrival, guests will be given a two-course lunch with wine before embarking on a one-hour cruise along the River Thames to enjoy the country sights with a cheese and wine course. Prices start at £95pp.

Street food

Pan Asian restaurant Tamarai on London's Drury Lane is launching a street food menu for the duration of the summer. From 15 July to the end of August, Tamarai will offer taster dishes from Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and South India alongside its regular menu. To celebrate the launch of the menu, the restaurant is also offering half-price Pampero Blanco Mojitos with any street food purchase.

Gin Club

Graphic Bar in Soho will be holding a gin masterclass every Monday from 26 July, featuring a different gin brand each week. A representative from each brand will provide a hands-on workshop for guests, guiding them through complementary flavours and cocktail recipes. As members of the Gin Club, guests will also be able to attend garden parties and events hosted by master distillers, and take part in martini making sessions.
