To celebrate The Queen's Diamond Jubilee next month, BigHospitality has spoken to restaurants, hotels, pubs and bars from across the UK to find out about the Jubilee-themed special offers and promotions they're running to capitalise on the increased footfall.
River-view suites

Luxury London hotel Plaza on the River​ is offering businesses special Diamond Jubilee packages in their five-star suites overlooking the Thames. For those wanting the ultimate Jubilee experience, Plaza on the River has private river-view suites with balconies which are available for up to 15 people to enjoy a regal mini-party. In-room catering can also be arranged, ensuring guests receive the full royal treatment. Suites start from £2,400 for the whole day on 3 June, allowing guests to watch London celebrate from the comfort of their large balcony.

Elizabeth on Windsor Street?

To mark the Jubilee, Park Plaza County Hall​ has announced a special promotion for diners at its restaurant, Spectrum. From 1 to 7 June, any couple ordering main courses will receive a free bottle of house wine, providing one of them shares the Queen’s first name, Elizabeth, or lives on a street, lane or road named after her surname, Windsor. “To thank the Queen for 60 years of service, we thought it only right to let her namesakes raise a glass to her reign, said Simon Mahon, general manager of Park Plaza County Hall. Queen for the night

The St. James’s Hotel and Club​ in Mayfair has designed a package to make guests 'feel like a queen' during the celebrations. The Diamond Jubilee package, priced at £7,780.00, includes: three nights' stay in the Penthouse Suite, English breakfast and Susannah Lovis diamonds to borrow for a night (up to the value of £25,000). Guests will be invited to stroll up to Susannah Lovis’s beautiful  boutique in the nearby Burlington Arcade, to hand select the jewels they wish to wear on the night while sipping chilled Champagne. They'll then head back to the Hotel where they will stay in the sumptuous Penthouse Suite with expansive rooftop views over Westminster, Big Ben and the London Eye along with their own private rooftop terrace.

Prêt-à-Portea

The Berkeley Hotel​ in Knightsbridge is paying homage to the Jubilee with the launch of ‘Prêt-à-Portea – The Royal Collection’. Prêt-à-Portea is designed to add a creative twist to the classic elements of the traditional English afternoon tea with cakes and pastries resembling the latest catwalk designs for the style conscious. However, from 29th​ May to 9th​ June 2012, biscuits, fancies and choux buns have been transformed to resemble the most memorable hats worn by the Royal Family. Prêt-à-Portea – The Royal Collection will be served in The Caramel Room at The Berkeley from 1-6pm from 29th​ May to 9th​ June 2012, priced at £36.50 per person.

Chilli Queen burger

Casual hamburger chain Byron​ has created a Diamond Jubilee special. The limited edition ‘Chilli Queen’ green chilli cheeseburger is a 6oz hamburger, with green chilli, chipotle mayo, shredded iceberg lettuce and American cheese, served in a glazed bun. Byron have worked with fellow hamburger specialist Fred Smith, head chef of the Admiral Codrington in Chelsea, to create the Chilli Queen. It will be priced at £8.75 and available in all Byron restaurants from 3 May – 5 June.

YO! Majesty

YO! Sushi​ are launching a limited edition commemorative plate to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Available to buy from June 1, the plate features the Royal Highness portrayed with crown and gown in front of a sparkling diamond Union Jack, with the dates of her illustrious 60-year reign clearly displayed on a regal red banner. YO! Sushi is also launching a specially designed ‘diamond’ encrusted Red Fruit Charlotte dessert. The limited edition plate is available for £3.00 or diners can enjoy the whole regal package (plate, dessert and a glass of fizz) for £7.50.

Jubilee Martini

Dukes St James London​ is toasting Her Majesty the Queen with a limited edition martini, created by the hotel’s head barman Alessandro Palazzi. Available from 1 June, the Jubilee Martini will be offered in the classic setting of the Dukes Bar - the location where Sir Ian Fleming wrote the infamous James Bond line ‘shaken not stirred’. The drink will also be served in crystal cut antique glasses from the Queen’s 1953 coronation. The Jubilee Martini at Dukes St James London will be available from 1 June, priced at £22.50.

Very British Afternoon Tea

Guoman's suitably regal, historic five-star The Royal Horseguards​ hotel in London's Whitehall has launched the Very British Afternoon Tea, available from 21 May until 17 June. Resident head pastry chef Joanne Todd has designed the exclusive ode to HM's 60 years on the throne with the Tea, which includes a selection of finger sandwiches, 'very British biscuits' s, a 'crown jewel cupcake', d​rop Scotch scones with English Bramley apple compote, dark chocolate and English peppermint creams, a lemon and martini meringue pie and freshly-baked scones served with homemade English strawberry preserve and Cornish clotted cream. The Tea is priced at £35 per person, or £40 per person including a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne.

Weekend package

The Chester Grosvenor​ hotel has put together a luxury package over the four-day bank holiday weekend. The Diamond Jubilee Weekend Package includes: three nights in a Deluxe bedroom from Saturday, June 2; a full English breakfast each morning in the award-winning La Brasserie; afternoon tea for two served in the Arkle Bar and Lounge; and a Royal Chester walking tour. The Package costs £455 per person.

Queen's Jubilee menu

Family-run The Capital Hotel​ in Knightsbridge is offering the Queen’s Jubilee Menu at its restaurant and private rooms between 1 and 10 June. This will comprise the exact same dishes enjoyed by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on a visit to The Capital Restaurant, namely seared scallops ceviche, deep fried crab & cucumber jelly; fillet of lamb in black olive crust, cumin jus & lightly spiced couscous and to finish poached pear with vanilla crème brûlée. The price is £60 per person, available at both lunch and dinner.

Jubilee tea package

The three London hotels in The Doyle Collection​ are running a 1950's-inspired afternoon tea available from 1 May to 30 June. All three hotels are also offering a special Jubilee tea package for two which includes overnight accommodation, Jubilee High Tea for two and full English breakfast the next morning from £195 per person.

The Windsor burger

Gourmet Burger Kitchen​ has launched The Windsor, a limited edition burger released in partnership with The Royal Farms in Windsor. The Windsor burger is 8oz of beef, served with English mustard mayonnaise in a toasted brioche bun. Optional smoky chipotle ketchup and lettuce & tomato are served on the side. It will be priced at £11.95 and available throughout the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics.

Royal day out

In honour of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and to recognise an extra bank holiday, Vinopolis​ - London’s wine and food tasting experience - will be hosting a weekend of food-themed events to celebrate our Monarch.  After enjoying lunch at the Cantina restaurant, guests can take advantage of 2-4-1 cocktails at Bar Blue, including the signature ‘Union Jack Collins’ handmade by head barman and expert mixologist Julian Krason. Pimms will also be available all day at £4 for a glass, £7 for a pint or £15 for a jug. Vinopolis will open its wine tour on Tuesday 5 June with special prices that will see tickets start at just £15.

Exclusive Jubilee packages

The two London hotels within the Four Seasons Hotels​ portfolio are offering exclusive jubilee packages. Four Seasons Hotel at Park Lane, overlooking her Majesty’s palace and gardens, is offering the Diamond Weekend package, which includes a deluxe room for two nights, a coronation tea and spa treatments from 'The Royal Collection.' Four Seasons Hotel at Canary Wharf is offering the 'Royal Family' package, offering a private Royal East End tour, a picnic basket filled with goodies, a street party on the hotel’s terrace to commemorate the Jubilee and a special Sunday brunch with a Jubilee-themed dish. The Diamond Jubilee package starts at £995 plus VAT, and the Royal Family package starts at £240 per room per night.
