The year-long Apprenticeship in Licensed Hospitality is mainly delivered in the work place by KCC and can be used by pubs, restaurants, bars and nightclubs for free or a heavily-subsidised rate.
“As a college we are committed to giving our students the widest possible choice of career and training opportunities, which is why I’m especially delighted to add the new BII qualification to our growing list of Apprenticeships,” said KCC Principal Mike Jutsum.
For local employers the rewards for hiring an apprentice can have a very positive impact on business. A recent survey of businesses by BII found that:
• 81 per cent said that employing apprentices generated higher overall productivity for their company.
• 92 per cent feel their Apprenticeship programme better motivated staff and increased job satisfaction.
• 74 per cent believe that apprentices tended to be more loyal, remaining at their company longer than non-apprentices.
Upon completion of the new apprenticeship individuals will receive an industry recognised qualification which encompasses compliance and business development.
BII’s Licensed Hospitality Apprenticeship is making its debut on the college curriculum during a special BII event being hosted at the College’s Chelsea Centre on Monday 13th February.
The event celebrates the partnership between BII and the College and gives guests an opportunity to network with industry experts and hear from several high profile speakers including Baroness Willcox, Parliamentary Under-Secretary for BIS.
