Beerd has opened up in the former premises of the Rustic Vine bar at the top of St. Michael's Hill in the city. Described as offering 'craft beer and pizza', it will serve beers from the region as well as drinks from the USA and beyond in pint, half and one third and two third pint measures.

New concept

The bar is the eighth venue for the brewery but Robin Couling, Bath Ales retail director, said Beerd represented a different proposition with global beers from artisan and independent breweries dispensed and served in different ways.

“We love great beer, both our own and the best from around the world. We expect Beerd to become a vibrant, exciting venue that gives drinkers something different. We believe beer enthusiasts will embrace this new concept and enjoy what Beerd has to offer,” Couling said.

Both the decoration, a collaboration between Bath Ales and Simple Simon Design, and the staff uniform as well as the food offering have been designed to provide drinkers with a more unique experience.

Bath Ales expansion

Bath Ales was founded in 1995 as an independent brewery and is based between Bath and Bristol. They currently operate seven pubs in the area but are planning a move to a new, larger site in the next two years as part of an expansion programme.

They currently produce 18,000 brewers barrels each year but will double production volumes in the next two years as well as enhancing their bottling site and brewery shop.
