Boparan Restaurant Group (BPG), the parent company of the brands Giraffe World Kitchen, Ed’s Easy Diner, Wondertree and Harry Ramsden’s, has announced Tom Crowley as new chief executive.

Crowley will begin the role with immediate effect, following the stepping down of Joe Teixeira from chief executive of Boparan Ventures (BVL) to explore new roles within the industry.

Crowley was previously managing director of Giraffe Restaurants, and also worked within marketing and as operations director at Mitchells & Butlers. He is also a non-executive director at the Thali Café group.

The Cinnamon Collection, including chef Vivek Singh’s restaurants The Cinnamon Club, Cinnamon Kitchen and Cinnamon Bazaar – which was bought by BRG in £10m with a view to expand ‒ will continue to be managed separately by Singh.

The group’s portfolio also includes the brands Burgers & Cocktails, and FishWorks.

Commenting on this appointment, Crowley said: “We thank Joe [Teixeira] for his support in developing Harry Ramsden's and FishWorks and wish him the very best for the future.

“Moving forward…we intend to quickly establish BRG as a major player in the hospitality market. Our objective is to further strengthen and grow the positions of all our brands nationally and internationally whilst at the same time creating a restaurant group with the capability of making future acquisitions.”
