Cinnamon Collection in £10m expansion by Boparan Restaurant Holdings

The new funding will allow executive chef and chief executive Vivek Singh to expand the brands Cinnamon Kitchen, and the more casual brand offshoot, Cinnamon Soho, across over ten new sites by 2017.

Cinnamon Kitchen is aiming to expand across central London, with plans to target other major cities next year; while Cinnamon Soho will look to open in a number of regional locations.

Singh will work personally to expand the concepts, alongside commercial director Tina English.

The Cinnamon Club, the fine dining operation based in the Grade II-listed Old Westminster Library in St. James’s Park, London, will continue to operate as the group’s signature venue and brand.

Ranjit Singh Boparan, chief executive private office comments: “We acquired Cinnamon Collection because we believe the business has significant potential for growth, and with a strong pipeline in place the team led by Vivek Singh and Tina English are ready to start scaling the business.”

Best-known for Cinnamon Club, Singh has also written five cookery books, and regularly appears on television cookery shows.

The news comes just over a week after it emerged that the Giraffe restaurant group had been acquired by BRH for an undisclosed sum. BRH - which also owns the Harry Ramden's group and Fishworks - announced its acquisition of the Cinnamon Collection in January this year, stating its intention to "scale" the group in the near future.
