Couple show loyalty by visiting Yorkshire hotel 50 times in 10 years

The Rendezvous hotel in Skipton, Yorkshire, could possibly have the most loyal guests ever, having this month welcomed couple Gordon and Betty Whitham through its doors for the fiftieth time in 10 years.

Despite living just five miles away from the 80-bedroom hotel, the Whithams always head there to celebrate landmark events, such as birthdays and anniversaries, citing its canal-side location and peaceful ambiance as the main reasons for their return. 

"We simply love staying at the Rendezvous. The minute we walk in, we feel like we’re on holiday”, said Betty. 

Hotel manager Amanda Casey said her 'experienced and established team of staff' were always sensitive to the couple's needs which could explain why  they visited time and time again.

“Over the years we’ve come to know Gordon and Betty personally. We understand the little touches that will help to make their every stay with us special – such as knowing their favourite table in our waterside conservatory restaurant where they like to dine on peaceful Sunday evenings," she said.
