The Eden Hotel Collection has put Devon country house hotel Buckland Tout-Saints up for sale ahead of plans to add larger properties to its portfolio.

The hotel company, which bought the Bovey Castle estate in 2014, said it was selling the 16-room hotel to focus on further expansion.

“Buckland Tout-Saints has been owned by Eden Hotels for the past 12 years and the sale is a strategic decision given the close proximity of sister hotel Bovey Castle in Dartmoor,” said Mark Chambers, group managing director at Eden Hotel Collection.

“The Eden Hotel Collection’s longer-term plan is to acquire larger properties as and when the right opportunities arise.

“It will remain business as usual at Buckland Tout-Saints and all advance bookings will be honoured if a sale goes through.”

The 17th century manor house features 16-rooms and is set within 4.5 acres of gardens and woodlands, including a croquet lawn and helipad.

Its on-site 120-cover Queen Anne restaurant currently holds two AA rosettes.

Martin Rogers, head of UK hotel transactions at Savills, said: "The iconic Buckland Tout-Saints is a fantastic example of a successful country house hotel. It is well known and respected in the area and we expect high levels of interest in the property.

“The property could also make a wonderful private house subject to planning permission."
