Moorfield is believed to be partnering Hilton in its bid, while Pedersen Hotels has teamed up with Accor, and Jefferson Hotels with Rezidor. Jefferson Hotels, the company created and owned by the Landesberg family, Rosenberg family and Galliard Homes, bought nine hotels from QMH for a rumoured £100 million in 2005.

The 19 hotels, which have been placed on the market by Goldman Sachs’s Whitehall Funds property group, are mostly run under Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn franchises.
