With just two months to go before the start of the London 2012 Olympics, BigHospitality took a tour of central London with Transport for London's Ian Wainwright to find out what kind of logistical issues restaurants, hotels and pubs could face during the event.

Although few of London's businesses are based on the Olympic Route Network (ORN), the closure of these roads could well cause disruption to those around it as delivery drivers are forced to seek alternative routes.

The capital is also expected to be busier than usual, meaning it could be harder for drivers to find spaces to stop and unload. Staff may also find it harder to get to and from work.

With this in mind we asked TfL to explain what hospitality businesses could do to keep moving during The Games period and ensure they benefitted from the potential extra trade the event may bring.

In this podcast, join BigHospitality's editor Emma Eversham and TfL's senior policy officer Ian Wainwright on a walking tour of Piccadilly and Soho, including a visit to Heddon Street vegetarian restaurant Tibits, as they discuss some of the difficulties businesses may face during the Olympics and suggest ways to overcome them.
