Two brothers are to combine the best of their wild food-themed west London restaurants into a pop-up in time for the summer festival season.

Richard and Oliver Gladwin, who together own the Rabbit on the King’s Road and the Shed in Notting Hill, plan to bring foraged food to the masses at a series of music and food events.

Rabbit in The Shed will pop up at a range of festivals such as Wilderness, Latitude, Lovebox and Meatopia, where it will serve a variety of wraps.

They will kick off a dedicated pop-up on Thursday (28 May) in Northamptonshire, working in partnership with food writer and presenter William Sitwell. 

Based on a ramshackle shed, the pop-up will feature a decking area made from recycled wood and metal. It will include quirky design features such as antique oil drums for tables and scaffold-board benches.

Restaurant ethos

Rabbit in The Shed will use the same ‘what grows together, goes together’ ethos insisted upon by the Gladwins in their London restaurants.

Food will be sourced primarily from their own family farm in West Sussex, along with other local suppliers and wild foraging. Everything will be cooked from scratch.

Wraps on the menu will include the likes of barbecued sticky Sussex beef, sweet cured pork belly with celeriac, and honey mustard and chard octopus with fennel.

Strawberries, melted chocolate, honeycomb sprinkles and a cream and Cotswolds limoncello sorbet will feature on the dessert menu. 

Since opening in 2013, the Shed has grown in profile and recently produced its own cookbook. The Rabbit opened last autumn.

Richard Gladwin said: “With this pop-up, we are taking our ethos of what grows together goes together on the road.”
