Great British Menu at Midsummer House and free airport parking with Choice Hotels

Bistro One Ninety at the Gore Hotel in London will be serving guests their meals in reverse over the next month to tie in with the showing of the Unordinary exhibition at the Royal Albert Hall. Head chef Taher Jibet will prepare peppered strawberry cheesecake on a white chocolate biscuit base to start, crispy-skin sea bass on julienne vegetables tossed in lobster butter and dill for main and steak tartare with duck egg, lime juice and coriander for dessert. Menus are priced at £21.50 for two courses and £23.50 for three courses.

 

Free parking

 

Choice Hotels Europe , the group behind the Comfort, Quality, Sleep Inn and Clarion brands, is offering free parking for up to 15 days at its hotels at Heathrow and Edinburgh airports `to help stretch holiday budgets further`. Guests can book one night`s stay and then leave their cars parked at the hotel while they go on holiday to avoid parking fees.

Chef Daniel Clifford, one of the contestants in the latest series of Great British Menu, will be serving up the dishes he created on the show at his restaurant Midsummer House in Cambridge throughout May. Diners can expect asparagus with crispy hen`s egg with smoked duck and fresh truffle, braised lobster with chicken gizzards, baby root vegetables and white port sauce, slow roast pork fillet with black pudding puree, creamed cabbage and rich cider sauce and apple and rhubarb crumble with rhubarb sorbet.

 

May 5 margaritas

 

Mexican restaurant Taqueri´a , will be commemorating the Mexican army`s conquest at the Battle of Puebla in 1862 on May 5 this year with a range of celebrations at its Notting Hill branch. The restaurant will create some special dishes, including a Corralejo margarita and some Mole Poblano, to celebrate the Mexican army`s unlikely win.
