A raft of restaurants, including the first ever James Martin Kitchen and new concept Halo Fizz Bar from The Restaurant Group (TRG) have opened as part of phase two of an £80m redevelopment of Stansted Airport.

The new James Martin concept has joined restaurant brands including itsu, Harris & Hoole, Giraffe, Leon, Coast to Coast, Pret a Manger and the SSP-operated Starbucks and Burger King.

SSP UK is also set to open a branch of its bar brand Cabin while a £2.7m, 7,000 square foot, Wetherspoon’s site will open on Monday, March 30.

James Martin Kitchen, a partnership with SSP UK, is a premium bakery that offers fresh farm ingredients, high quality baking, with the option to eat in or to grab-and-go.

Celebrity chef and TV presenter James Martin said: “I am extremely excited to add James Martin Kitchen into the mix at one of the UK’s busiest airports.

“Having collaborated with many of Britain’s greatest and smallest food suppliers, passengers will experience a menu of ‘proper British food’, and the fresh flavours and produce will speak for itself.”

Halo Fizz Bar

The Halo Fizz Bar was created especially for Stansted Airport by TRG.

The bar offers an extensive drinks menu with Champagne, a range of classic cocktails, global beers and a premium spirit list. It also offers a small menu that works throughout the day with bacon sandwiches, free range scrambled eggs & smoked salmon and homemade granola from 5am right through to fresh salads, open sandwiches, and gourmet plates.

"We wanted to create a brand that encapsulated the new ambition and attitude bought to Stansted through its latest developments. Halo is a modern, independent and confident brand and is unique to the airport. It promises to provide a luxurious experience through a carefully crafted menu of food, drinks and fizz," said Nick Ayerst, managing director TRG Concessions.
