What would you like your name to be today? 

Asian restaurant chain Tampopo is launchign a 'What would you like your name to be today?' campaign, offering a free course to any customer/friend who visits a Tampopo or East Street restaurant and says 'Hi, I'm (insert name), and I am your friend, can I have a free main course please?' Running on Sunday 1 April until 1pm, the promotion has been launched in response to 'overwhelming' requests by customers. Co-founder of Tampopo, Howard Fox, said: “We already go out of our way to make our customers feel at home, but this is taking it to another level. I have used alias names since leaving school - I started with Hamish, but on occasion I also have crossed the gender boundary which certainly livens up my day and that of my server/friend.”

Earth Hour

A group of London Hilton hotels plan to mark Earth Hour 2012 from 8:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m on Saturday March 31 as people and organisations around the world turn off their lights in support of action on global climate change. London Hilton on Park Lane, The Waldorf Hilton, Hilton London Metropole, Hilton London Tower Bridge, Hilton London Canary Wharf are expected to take part in the event that will mobilize more than one billion people worldwide. Radisson Blu Edwardian London are also joining the campaign to tackle climate change, switching off all public lights across its hotels in the capital for the fourth consecutive year.

Thai Night

Mango Tree restaurant is launching a monthly Thai Night, showcasing 'the best that Thai culture has to offer.' Beginning on Wednesday 18 April to coincide with Thai New Year, Thai Night will feature performances from traditional Thai dancers, along with cooking demonstrations, food carving and a specially devised menu for the night. The menu will demonstrate the different dishes that originate from the four main regions of Thailand. Mango Tree’s Thai Night will take place on the third Wednesday of every month.

Titanic Night Dinner

The Yorebridge House hotel near Leyburn, North Yorkshire, is hosting a Titanic Night Dinner on Sunday 14 April in association with the Titanic Heritage Trust to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of RMS Titanic. David and Charlotte Reilly, owners of Yorebridge House, said: “We very much wanted to support The Trust, a charitable organisation which is dedicated to Preserving Titanic’s past for the future. And we will be making a donation towards the Bell Boy Appeal, to build a memorial Garden of Remembrance for the three very young bell boys, and all the other children who were lost at sea that night." The 12-course dinner, including wine with each course, is priced at £120 per person.
