Nines Global Buffet is to open to the public this month following a ‘complete design overhaul’ of the old premises of Lucky Star Buffet.

Based at Cambridge Leisure Centre, Nines will have 300-covers covers and will serve a ride range of international dishes, all for one price range.

The international buffet has been trading as Lucky Star since new owners took over last year but Nines will operate as a new business following the refurbishment process.

The restaurant will serve 200 dishes at dinner (and 100 at lunch) from 14 different countries including Japan, Spain, Thailand, China and Italy. The restaurant will feature live cooking stations where chefs will prepare and cook the food to order in front of the customers. A ‘standout feature’ will be a sushi conveyor belt with freshly-prepared sushi and sashimi for customers to choose from.

Alice Yi, general manager of Nines Global Buffet, said: “We have had some delays to our launch due to building works, but we are really looking forward to opening and bringing this new dining concept to Cambridge. We hope that our great choice, quality, and affordability will make Nines a popular spot for the residents of Cambridge.”
