Kevin Georgel, board member, Dartmoor Brewery

Dartmoor Brewery, part of the burgeoning SIBA set of fast-growing cask-ale-makers, has appointed Kevin Georgel, the former Coors executive and current managing director of tenanted pub group Admiral Taverns, to its board.

Georgel has come in to help the Brewery capitalise on the increasing popularity of its award-winning beers as it looks to expand beyond its Devonshire heartland.

Georgel said: “I am very excited to be joining Dartmoor at this stage in its development. It’s a fabulous business that produces a range of excellent beers, spearheaded by the outstanding Jail Ale, and I am looking forward to working with the team to grow its market share, both locally and farther afield, in what is clearly a very dynamic and competitive beer market.”

BigHospitality rounds up the latest appointments in the hospitality industry. This month sees key appointments at hotels, restaurants and pubs including The Roof Gardens, Morrison Bowmore, Hilton and Starwood.

Dartmoor Brewery has appointed Kevin Georgel, the Admiral Taverns director, to its board, while Morrison Bowmore Distillers has announced the appointment of Rachel Barrie to the newly-created position of master blender.

Hilton London Heathrow Airport has appointed Christopher Jefferson as its new executive chef, while Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Sundip Bedi as Senior Marketing Manager for its England and Ireland properties.

The Roof Gardens in Kensington has appointed Sam Wilson into the position of General Manager and independent specialty brewer Innis & Gunn has recruited David Cockburn as chief financial officer.

Bulgari Hotel & Residences London has appointed Robbie Pepin as head chef of Il Ristorante. While Hannah Bass has joined Hakkasan as director of operations UK.

CBRE Hotels EMEA has announced the appointment of Felicity Black-Roberts to the role of Senior Director to the hotel Brokerage team based in the London headquarters.
