Snoozebox – the portable hotel company - has unveiled a new design which allows its rooms to be transformed in to a theatre, dining room or office.

The concept was created by Norwegian architecture studio OHǾY and features a single ‘box’ with a series of blocks and platforms that can be used to build structures inside each room.

A table, bench and bunk beds can be unfolded to create a living room, bedroom, ‘chill out den’ or office.

The pop-up design – dubbed The STAGEzzz - will be incorporated in to Snoozebox’s existing offering, which provides hotel standard rooms at festivals and major events around the world.

The concept was created for a Snoozebox competition challenging designers to transform its bedrooms.

Other entrants included the Cinebox - a part-hotel part-cinema – and the Transformer Hotel which used three movable walls to create seven different spaces.

Lorcán Ó Murchú, CEO of Snoozebox, said: “I was inspired by how the entrants thought about how we might live in the future.

“As Snoozebox expands into other sectors, we look forward to exploring some of these ideas with those who took part in the competition.”

A 100-room Snoozebox hotel can be constructed in less than 24-hours, with typical rooms including an en-suite wet room, WiFi and television.

The company, which launched in 2009, recently announced that its revenues grew 300 per cent in the first half of 2015 to £2.4m.

It follows a major turnaround for the group after the company reported a ‘disappointing’ £4.4m loss in 2012.

It now owns 800 hotel rooms and plans to roll out a further 150 next year.

The STAGEzzz will be on show to the public in front of the London Business Centre in Islington during the Sleep hotel design event between 24 – 26 November
