Tom Aikens is remaining positive about a management buyout of his restaurants and says it will enable him to spend more time developing the business "in and out of the kitchen".
Tom`s Kitchen and Tom Aikens Restaurant, both in Chelsea, were placed into administration on October 17 following the closure of the chef`s fish and chip restaurant Tom`s Place in August.
Both restaurants were acquired in a management buy out by TA†Holdco, which has been funded by a private investor. The company will now be in charge of developing and growing the business and the Tom Aikens brand.
Aikens said: “I am very excited about the future because I will now be able to spend more time developing the business, in and out of the kitchen. My suppliers have been very supportive of me over 15 years and I look forward to working with them in our new business”.
An on-going barrage of complaints from neighbours and the local council forced Tom Aikens to close down his eco-friendly Chelsea restaurant, Tom’s Place earlier this year.
