Westminster Kingsway students to work at El Celler de Can Roca's London pop-up

Ten students from Westminster Kingsway College are being given the chance to work with the Roca brothers at their pop-up at the Café Royal in London this summer. 

The students will work as part of a team of 35 from Joan, Jordi and Josep's Spanish restaurant El Celler de Can Roca at the pop-up from 2 to 5 August, serving an 18-course dinner to 60 guests each night. 

They will also be given a cookery masterclass from the three brothers in London while two students will get the chance to complete a four-month internship at their restaurant in Girona, currently number two​ on The World's 50 Best Restaurants list.

Gary Hunter, vice principal of Hospitality and Adult Programmes at Westminster Kingsway College, said: “This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance for Westminster Kingsway College to work with one of the greatest restaurants in the world. I am confident our students will add something to the El Celler de Can Roca experience.” 

El Celler de Can Roca head chef Joan Roca, said: “On our travels, the local crew is essential to the El Celler de Can Roca experience. We are delighted to be working with Westminster Kingsway College with its reputation for excellence among London restaurateurs.” 

The El Celler de Can Roca pop-up at the Domino restaurant at London hotel Café Royal​ is part of the BBVA-El Celler de Can Roca World Tour 2016 which will see the restaurant travel to Hong Kong, Phoenix, San Francisco and Santiago de Chile with global bank BBVA.
