The Three Tuns pub is run by Chris and Carol Haines, who said local produce was the key to their success. Chris Haines said: “We make all of our chips fresh from local farm shop potatoes, which keeps us busy but the feedback is worth it – after all, people tell us that they come in just for our chips!"

Nearly 600 chip shops and pubs or restaurants across the country got involved in the competition designed to celebrate National Chip Week (February 20-26) and reward quality chips being served in independent establishments.

Chip themed menus and special promotions from hospitality businesses will also take place for National Chip Week, which is celebrating its 21st year in 2012.
