Raymond Blanc hails Feng Sushi as most sustainable fish restaurant

Raymond Blanc announced Feng Sushi as the winner of the ‘Green Gong’ at the Sustainable City Awards held in the City of London last week.

The seven-strong sushi restaurant took home the Sustainable Fish award out of more than 130 entries, in the City of London Corporation-organised event which celebrates sustainable business practice.

Blanc, who hosted the awards and judged the Sustainable Food category, said: “It is clear from the spread of winners that businesses and organisations of all sizes with a range of resources are leading from the front and positively transforming their environmental impact.

For Feng Sushi, a restaurant group, to win shows that the world is changing. In the past restaurant groups have been driven by profit margins but Feng Sushi’s success demonstrates that both businesses and consumers are willing to change their habits to support sustainability.”

SME contractors the Alumet Group took home the Overall Winner Award.
