The new ‘Management Guide, Performance Management for All Ages in Hospitality Businesses’ is part of IoH’s wider online education efforts for the hospitality sector.

“The new guide promotes the use of performance management measures to ensure all employees understand their job duties and can adequately perform them,” says IoH.

Performance management

It details aspects such as the need for performance management, the performance review process and how to deal with poor performance and top tips.

IoH, a membership group that aims to promote education and skills in the hospitality industry, publishes management guides regularly in an effort to supply material of special relevance to hospitality, leisure and tourism managers.

The group said it is providing the new educational aid free of charge to its members. Non-members can buy an electronic version for £8 and a hard copy for £12.

“The guide complements the bi-monthly CPD Newsletter, Know-how, which provides up to date information on an array of business and education issues,” said IoH. It follows on from a previous guide, launched earlier this year, entitled ‘Managing Without a Default Retirement Age’.

All IoH management guides are available here.
