The Restaurant Show 2011: Day two

The Restaurant Show 2011 continues at Earls Court 2 today, with Elena Arzak Ashley Palmer-Watts among those featuring on the centre stage, while The National Chef of the Year Awards take place this evening.

Arzak, who opened the show yesterday, is taking part in a ‘food pairing with Ferran Adria’s Inedit beer’. Palmer-Watts, executive chef at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal, will be hosting a seminar on ‘avant-garde cooking – with heritage and soul’.

Also featuring on centre stage is Bruno Loubet of Bistro Bruno Loubet, who will be demonstrating ‘British gastronomic heritage through contemporary eyes’, and David House and Justin Preston from Allens of Mayfair, who will be hosting ‘Autumn at the Bistrot. Francesco Mazzei of L’Anima, London, will then host ‘Butchered’.

Over in the business bootcamp, Livebookings Academy are hosting two seminars, on Google and Websites, while Torex, Action Against Hunger and Restaurant Magazine are among others hosting talks.

Tonight then sees the exciting climax of the 39th National Chef of the Year and Young National Chef of the Year Awards. After four intense and steamy semi-finals, 40 hopeful chefs have been pared down to eight. Tonight’s final takes place in the competition theatre.
