Beechdean Farmhouse Dairy has expanded its range of ice cream available for the foodservice trade with the introduction of two 'retro' flavours - Eton Mess and Peach Melba.

Product details:

The Buckinghamshire-based dairy, which last year bought the Loseley Ice Cream brand from administration, has expanded its range of ice cream available for restaurants, hotels and pubs and bars.

The Eton Mess ice cream is described as having a clotted cream flavour and contains chunks of meringue which are combined with strawberry ice cream containing pieces of real strawberry; all of which is whipped together with a strawberry sauce.

Meanwhile Peach Melba is a peach flavour dairy ice cream containing pieces of fresh peach which is mixed together with butterscotch chunks and a raspberry ripple sauce.

The dairy suggests both products are good accompaniments to classic desserts such as pies or brownies.

USP:

Like the entire Beechdean range, the two newest flavours are made with fresh Jersey milk, entirely natural ingredients and do not contain artificial additives or preservatives.

The company was formed by a husband-and-wife team in 1988 and is still run by Andrew and Susie Howard. Today 90 per cent of the company's business goes to the foodservice trade.

Price:

The cost to hospitality buyers differs depending on the size and type of the order. Potential customers are advised to contact the dairy direct.

Availability:

The Peach Melba and Eton Mess ice creams are supplied in 5l tubs, as are the products in the entire range. To enquire about or order the ice cream contact Beechdean on 01494 563980.

Why should you buy it?

Andrew Howard, managing director of Beechdean, said: "These two new flavours are perfect for any caterer who wants to offer their customers something a little bit different."

"While we would always recommend stocking the standard ice cream flavours of vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, it’s a good idea to have a more adventurous variety on the menu. Our new Eton Mess and Peach Melba ice creams successfully tap into the current trend for nostalgia and foods from the past while offering the consumer a delicious, more complex taste."

Extras:

The full Beechdean Farmhouse Dairy ice cream includes elderflower, blackcurrant cheesecake, rum and raisin and maple and walnut. It also manufactures and supplies sorbets, waffles, frozen yogurt and other products including frozen custard to hospitality buyers.
