Titanic Irish Whiskey is the first new whiskey brand to be produced in Belfast since the last distillery closed 75 years ago and will be available in 5 Year and 10-Year-Old versions.

The whiskey was officially launched in Belfast on 31 May 2011, the 100th anniversary of the launch of the ill-fated liner from the Harland and Wolff shipyard, which was witnessed by more than 100,000 people.

Derek Hardy of the Belfast Distillery Company said: “Titanic Whiskey is a tribute to the great history of ship building and whiskey distilling in Belfast and to the skill and endeavour of all those people who were involved in these great industries. Unknown to most people today, in the same era when Titanic was being launched, Belfast produced nearly half the total whiskey produced in Ireland.”

The launch of Titanic Irish Whiskey coincides with the news that the Belfast Distillery Company will be building a new distillery in the city over the next two years. The company will also begin to produce its managing director Peter Lavery's Danny Boy Irish whiskey brand, which has already gained success in the USA.
