Andrew Birch joins Lainston House as executive chef

Former Great British Menu chef Andrew Birch is to join Lainston House hotel as executive chef this August.

Birch will oversee the food offering at the five-star Winchester hotel, including the three-AA-Rosette The Avenue restaurant.

His career has seen him work under Kenny Atkinson at Teän on the Isle of Scilly, London’s Hotel Cafe royal and as senior sous chef at the Michelin-starred Montagu Arms in the New Forest.

He joins Lainston House from the three-AA-rosette Fishmore Hall in Ludlow, where he was head chef.

“We’re very excited about what Andrew has planned and are looking forward to an exciting new chapter at Lainston House,” says general manager Gaius Wyncoll.

Lainston House is part of the Exclusive Hotels group, which includes Pennyhill Park in Surrey and South Lodge in West Sussex.
