Lord Daresbury joins the group following a 17-year stint as a senior executive at the De Vere Group. He was also previously managing director of Greenalls Group.

He said: “I am delighted to become involved with Bespoke Hotels as a Non-Executive Director. I think there are many opportunities in the hotel sector, with Bespoke very well placed to capitalise on them.”

He will work to grow the group’s owner and management hotel contracts in the coming years through seeking new funding opportunities.

Following the group’s restructuring, founders Robin Shepard and Haydn Fentum have adopted the roles of chairman and chief executive.

The Elms

Meanwhile Von Essen hotels has appointed a new general manager for The Elms Hotel & Spa in Worcestershire.

Martin Newbould joins the hotel with over 14 years experience in the hotel industry, most recently from the Hoxton Hotel in London where he held the position of operations manager.

He has also previously worked at the May Fair Hotel as hotel manager.

He will now work towards growing The Elms’s conference and wedding offer for the coming year.
