Galvin Restaurants has appointed the award-winning Andrea Briccarello head sommelier and wine buyer ahead of the opening of its new businesses Galvin La Chapelle and Galvin Café de Luxe this autumn.
The Italian-born chef, who was named Sommelier of the Year at this year's Taste of London festival, will oversee the wine lists at the new restaurants as well as Galvin Bistrot de Luxe.
Previously group sommelier and wine buyer for Corrigan's Mayfair, Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill, and Lindsay House, Briccarello has also worked at Umu and the Connaught Hotel Grill room.
He said: "Galvin Restaurants has a great reputation for the affordability and quality of its wine lists that I look forward to building on, particularly with our exciting relationship with Paul Jaboulet Aine that will soon be seen at Galvin La Chapelle and Galvin Café de Luxe."
