The final is the culmination of 11 months’ training undertaken by the participating chefs during which time they were paired up with executive chefs from Hilton Worldwide hotels in the UK and took part in workshops and experiences including a fish filleting masterclass at Billingsgate Fish Market.
James Glover, vice president, food and beverage in Europe for Hilton Worldwide who is leading the judging panel said: “The Hilton Worldwide Chef Mentoring programme in the UK further enhances our objective of creating an exciting and rewarding food and beverage culture within our company, based on our six principles of food and beverage," he said
To win the 17 contestants will need to impress with their preparation and cooking of a beef fillet, Savoy cabbage and celeriac main course. They will be judged on creativity, presentation and the meal quality and the winner will enjoy a gastronomic weekend in Rome.
