Hotel Indigo appoints a new genral manager for its Liverpool property, while Guoman gets a new hotel manager for The Cumberland.

Sanguine Hospitality has appointed a new general manager for its Hotel Indigo property in Liverpool.

David Hughes joins the 151-bedroom hotel from Whitbread where he spent five years as general manager of Premier Inn Albert Dock in Liverpool.

He also brings with him 14 years experience from the industry.

“I’m really excited to be on board,” he said. “Hotel Indigo is a fantastic product that will change the way hotels and restaurants are run together in Liverpool. With Marco Pierre White’s Steakhouse, Bar and Grill, we have a destination restaurant within a destination hotel, which will definitely help drive bookings.”

The Cumberland

Meanwhile, Guoman hotels has appointed a new hotel manager for The Cumberland at London’s Marble Arch.

James Berry will work with current general manager Tim Cordon to develop the four-star property’s appeal as a central London hotel destination.

Cordon said: “James has an enduring passion and drive for the industry; apparent in everything he sets out to achieve. His proven expertise, attention to detail and proactive attitude to continually enhancing service levels, will no doubt ensure The Cumberland continues to be a favoured deluxe hotel choice in central London.”
