John Calton, who made the final three of BBC’s Masterchef: The Professionals 2010, has been appointed head chef at the Harbour Lights pub in his home town of South Shields.
Chef Clive Dixon has formed a partnershipwithHenry & Katherine Cripps and will be joining country pub The White Oak as chef-patron in January 2012, while Steve and Joanna Bulmer have closed the Brook Hall Cookery School and will be integrating their skills into the 10in8 Group’s cookery school and Fine Dining Academy.
Dale Gill has taken over as head chef at the Legacy Woodhall Spa Hotel and his first task was to design the venue’s Christmas menu, while Hall Garth Hotel has appointed Pam Mooney as new general manager.
The Devonshire Arms Country House Hotel & Spa has appointed Andrew Mackay as its new General Manager, while Mathew Mawtus comes in as operations director at Charlottes Holdings, which owns Charlottes Place in Ealing and Charlottes Bistro in Chiswick.
New York-style brasserie and cocktail bar Village East has appointed Nick Deverell-Smith as head chef and Tony Lincoln has been appointed European sales & marketing director at restaurantsPlanet Hollywood and Earl of Sandwich.
