Health and safety film producer Outtakes has released a professional kitchen safety film aimed at inexperienced workers and those who don’t count English as their first language.

Kitchen Capers is a short training film that can be used as a general induction on safety for new starters and a quick reminder for all the major dangers in the kitchen for all staff.

According to statistics from the Health and Safety Executive, more than 4,000 people employed in catering and hospitality received an injury that kept them away from work for more than three days in 2007/08 and the costs can be high for businesses who don`t heed health and safety warnings.

Covering slips trips and falls, burns, cross-contamination, cuts, manual handling, stress and chemical reactions, the film highlights the risks in every kitchen and how to eliminate them.

A spokesperson for Outtakes said: “Although it does not constitute a complete training programme, film is a very effective method of pointing out the dangers in an entertaining way, and allows companies to demonstrate a proactive approach to safety.”

The film usually costs £150 +VAT, but Outtakes is offering BigHospitality readers the film for the special offer of £100 +VAT. Mention BigHospitality when ordering via the number 0208 293 9888 or by emailing info@outtakes.co.uk .
