Available to order now, the branded, stemmed glasses have been designed to appeal to women and ‘younger, more affluent beer drinkers’ – the core market of Carlsberg UK’s three brands.

David Scott, customer marketing director at Carlsberg UK, said: “World Lager is in strong growth in the on-trade, and we have a portfolio of market leading brands which is driving the category.

“Staropramen, Mahou and Poretti are enjoyed by a diverse range of consumers on many different occasions, from a drink with friends to a beer with meal. By introducing two-third pint glasses, we’re adding to the range of choice our on-trade customers can offer.

“Thanks to the deregulation of the law, the two-third pint measure now sits neatly between the traditional half-pint and pint. Offering these premium World Lagers in our high-quality branded glassware will ensure that the new serving size has a high profile in outlets.”

Publicans can begin serving beer in two-thirds pint glasses from 1 October when legislation changes.
