Potato specialist Farm Frites has launched Patatas Bravas into foodservice to help operators capitalise on the on-going trend for sharing dishes.

Product details:

Farm Frites' new Patatas Bravas are multi-purpose potato cubes measuring 25x25x18mm that can be topped with other ingredients for a main dish, eaten as a side dish, as a sharing option with dips or even as part of a kid's mini roast. The product can be oven cooked from frozen in 15 to 20 minutes, deep fried in four to five minutes or pan fried in 12 to 15 minutes.

USP:

The new product offers caterers 'an authentic way to rustle up tapas' and meet demand for sharing options, bar foods, sliders, platters and tasters, with fewer ingredients to source and the option of many add-ons, from sauces and dips to seasonings and shakes says Farm Frites marketing manager Nic Townsend.

Price:

Available on demand.

Availability:

In 12x1kg cases from www.farmfrites.com. For more information call 01452 415845.

Why you should buy it:

Townsend believes Patatas Bravas can help those selling food, particularly publicans and fast-casual operators, to capitalise on the growth in interest in sharing options and emerging cuisines.

“In Allegra’s Taste of the Future survey, six per cent and three per cent of foodservice professionals interviewed said they thought Mediterranean and Spanish, respectively, were the most prevalent cuisines eating out today. What is particularly interesting, however, is that these figures shot up to 24 per cent and 17 per cent when asked what cuisines would be most prevalent in 2020," he says.
