The Deliteazers range includes pre-prepared light-bites such as Chicken Taquito Royale and Tomato and Mozzarella Rice Balls, which have been inspired by the food served from chef-run mobile restaurants in America.

Abergavenny Foodservice believes the appetisers, which use authentic ingredients from around the world, could ‘shake-up’ menus at pubs, QSR restaurants and anywhere offering small or light bites.

“Appetisers aren’t a new thing by any stretch, but a lot of products currently available haven’t really moved on,” said Tim Whitehead of Abergavenny Foodservice, the family-owned, South Wales company behind the new Deliteazers range.

“Gourmet street food, which largely came into being as a way for chefs in the US to create amazing food without the expense of a bricks and mortar restaurant, has become very popular here in the UK. The Deliteazers range gives caterers a chance to tap into this massive trend.”

The Deliteazers range comprises:

  • Mozzarella Dippers (slices of mozzarella in a light and crispy Italian herb crumb)
  • Tomato & Mozzarella Rice Balls (risotto balls with mozzarella, basil & tomato in a crispy basil crumb)
  • Zingin’ Jalapeño Cheese Flamers (spicy green jalapeño loaded with cool cream cheese in a light & crispy crumb)
  • Smokin’ Jalapeño Cheese Flamers (sweet red jalapeño stuffed with ‘Hot Diggidy Dog®’ Chipotle Cheese in smokin’ crumb)
  • Machito Bean Grande (fingers of red kidney beans, jalapeños, peppers and mozzarella in herby crumb)
  • Chicken Taquito Royale (rolled tortilla, stuffed with chicken, spinach, beans, jalapeños and cheese)

The range is available in 4x1kg bags from 3663 and give chefs the chance to generate at least 66 per cent GP according to producers.
