Product details:

Avenue9 has been set up to make IT services within hotels, restaurants and pubs more streamlined so they can use them in the right way to help growth. It says its main objective is to streamline 'disparate and multiple IT supplier streams' while also cutting costs associated with operating on different platforms. It will be a single point of contact to manage a company's EPoS system, reservations system and in-room entertainment for example. Part of its service is also to help companies maximise the use of their existing estate and get it working more effectively so that managers can spend more time on providing good customer service rather than on dealing with IT problems.

USP:

It provides a single point of contact for businesses in the hospitality sector, consolidating the complexity of supply chains and enabling companies to focus on their own business. Being part of an established group within the industry, it also has knowledge of the sector and extensive technical experience.

Cost: No set cost, will depend on the service agreed on.

Why should you buy it?:

If you're spending more time dealing with IT problems than you want to, it may be worth investing to allow you to spend more time on developing your business how you want to.

Alistair Hargreaves, operations director, Avenue9 says: “Throughout my career in the hospitality industry I have learnt that without a sound, sensible and tailored IT system you are dead in the water. I have worked all over the world, and still the problems persists that our sector places IT way down as a priority, when in fact it should be its leading light. IT is the way forward to get your house in order, to accurately forecast and ultimately build the way to making profit.”
