Artis launches Duralex tempered glass table and glassware range

Artis has launched a range of Duralex tempered glassware products after it was appointed the master distributor of the French brand in the UK. The durable glass collection includes bar and tableware, such as tumblers, cups, mugs, ramekins, bowls and plates which have been produced in both modern and classic designs. They are being aimed at the busy food and drink service environment due to their resistance to breakage and thermal shock.
USP:
When glass is tempered (heated to around 700°C and rapidly cooled by air) it becomes 2.5 times more resistant to breakage and thermal shock than glass that hasn't. It means that the glass products can be used for 'oven to table' style dishes or for hot beverages in a range of catering environments without the fear that they will break.

Why you should buy it:
If you like glass tableware but have been afraid it isn't robust enough for your business, this could be the solution. Tempered glassware will resist temperatures of 130°C and is 2.5 times more resistance to breakage and thermal shock than standard glass of the same thickness. Should it break, it shatters into thousands of non-cutting pieces meaning it is also safer than standard glass.
