Hospitality and tourism businesses must be connected to help build ‘successful and responsible growth’ according to the organisers of this year’s British Hospitality Association’s (BHA) Hospitality and Tourism Summit.

The theme of this year’s event at The Grange Hotel St Paul’s on 27 June is ‘Connected’ with all planned discussions relating to the subject.

“As representatives of one of the largest and most influential industries in the UK, our role is to unite hospitality and tourism businesses and to champion their interests, to ensure successful and responsible growth. To achieve this objective, one of the most important things we – and our members – can do is to stay connected,” said BHA chief executive Ufi Ibrahim.

Panel discussions will be held throughout the day on subjects such as digital trends, investment and the sharing economy.

A particular focus will be paid to employment with a panel discussion chaired by Westbury Street Holdings chief executive and chairman Alistair Storey covering the impact of the National Living Wage,  the Apprenticeship Levy and employment policy.

The result of the EU referendum on 23 June and its impact on the industry, will also be up for discussion in Connected to Europe: The economy post referendum.

“Four days after the EU referendum, being connected is about how we as a country connect with Europe and the rest of the world in the light of the referendum, whatever its result,” said Ibrahim.
