The Copper Horse in North Yorkshire scooped Restaurant of the Year, La Sablonnerie won Hotel of the Year and The Buck and Bell was awarded Pub/Inn of the Year.

“This year has been so competitive,” said Allie Philpin, marketing executive for Les Routiers UK & Ireland. “We’ve had such good feedback from the many fans of our nominees.

“Together with outstanding performances by all, it has made the judging process this year one of the toughest we’ve ever encountered.”

The Copper Horse, located near Scarborough and a sister site to The Tanglewood on the outskirts if York, won Les Routiers' Restaurant of the Year award in 2008.

The restaurant said via Twitter: “Fantastic news - we are proud to say that The Copper Horse has won Les Routiers Restaurant of the Year for 2012! Big thanks to everyone.”
