Qype reveals restaurant nominees in first UK Business Awards

Mooli's is among ten restaurants shortlisted for Restaurant of the Year at Qype's first UK Business Awards

Reviews website Qype has revealed the ten restaurants vying for Restaurant of the Year award in its first UK Business Awards which are based on comments and reviews posted on the site over the past year.

Indian street food restaurant Mooli's, Mexican chain Wahaca and Brighton restaurant Terre a Terre are among the ten businesses shortlisted for the restaurant category of the awards which will also be honouring places of interest, shopping venues and beauty and wellbeing companies.

Ten pubs or bars, including the Westbridge site of The Draft House at Battersea, London, are also competing in the awards on 29 March for the title of Bar of the Year. 

Winners will either get a winner, highly commended or special recommendation award in each category and all the 50 shortlisted businesses will also compete for the overall titles of Business of the Year and Place of the Year before representing the UK at the Qype World Business of the Year Awards.

Richard Dennys, Qype's chief marketing officer, said: "Qype's millions of users offer feedback and opinions on their experiences every day and the Qype Business Awards will take this huge resource into account. We will be celebrating the businesses that have made the greatest positive impact on their customers in the last year. It will be great to see which restaurant will come out on top."
