The 'Show Me Wales' app for the iPhone and iPad is described as the first 'pan-Wales' app and is designed to be a port of call for people looking for places to eat and drink as well as things to do in the country.
The Mid Wales Tourism (MWT) chief executive Val Hawkins said the app and accompanying mobile website - www.m.showmewales.co.uk - will be available both inside and outside Wales.
"It offers a sophisticated search facility so that when a visitor crosses the Welsh border the really clever bit kicks in. Using GPS technology, the app will locate the user and, using Google maps, will plot a range of tourist attractions, activities and even bookable accommodation within a user-specified radius," she said.
Businesses who want to be listed are advised to contact MWT who developed the app and website in partnership with North Wales Tourism.
