The company, which is due to open its fifth restaurant in Chancery Lane later this year, told BigHospitality sister publication M&C Report it had two sites currently under offer in central London.
The brand, which collected the Emerging Concept prize at last year's Retailers' Retailer of the Year Awards, opened its first site in Islington in 2007.
The chain, which was founded by Eric Partaker and Dan Houghton, also operates restaurants in Fleet Street, London; Bluewater, Kent; and Meadowhall, Sheffield.
London-centric
The London push falls in line with Chilango’s forward plan to expand at a rate of one restaurant per quarter, focusing primarily on the central London area.
“We’ve done what we wanted to do in the early stages by developing sites outside London to gain familiarity, but now we want to continue concentrating on London,” Partaker told BigHospitality in November.
Chancery Lane
The Chancery Lane site, due to open in May, is a 2,000 sq ft property, which was previously vacant.
It will provide seating for 40 covers and trading is expected to mirror that of Chilango’s Fleet Street location, which currently sees high volume at lunchtimes Monday to Friday and takes around £1m in revenue per year.
