Named the Baby Gaga, the £14 a serving ice cream blends human breast milk with Madagascan vanilla pods and lemon zest, but is currently being served by a waitress – dressed as popstar Lady Gaga – at the table using liquid nitrogen.

IceCreamists owner Matt O’Connor said: “It’s pure, it’s natural, organic, free range and if it's good enough for our kids it's good enough to use in our ice cream.”

A string of new mums came forward to donate their breast milk in response to an internet advert.

The milk has been screened to hospital standards.
