Latin American restaurant group Coya has revealed further details of its second London site, opening in Bank later this year.

The brand is the brainchild of Arjun Waney, one half of the duo behind London’s Zuma and Roka restaurants, who launched Coya’s debut Mayfair site in 2012 as part of a surge in Peruvian dining in the capital that saw Lima and Martin Morales’ Ceviche both open in the same year.

Now the group is expanding to the City with a 4,500 sq.ft site on the ground floor of the new Angel Court development.

Coya executive chef Sanjay Dwivedi has created a menu of ‘light and healthy’ Peruvian dishes, alongside an express lunch menu for time-pressed City workers.

The 170-cover restaurant will feature a six-cover Rum Round Table, two private dining rooms, Pisco Lounge bar and a DJ booth which will host international female talent throughout the year.

Guests will also have the option to buy their favourite spirit and have it stored in a ‘bottle library’ locker for when they return.

The launch is part of a wider expansion of the Coya brand, with an opening in Abu Dhabi lined up for later this year.

Coya currently runs three sites in London, Miami and Dubai, and is also planning to open in Shanghai, Singapore and Seoul.

The Angel Court restaurant will open its doors on 2 May.
