Doughnut Time opening London UK store
Australian doughnut brand Doughnut Time is to open its debut UK store in Shaftesbury Avenue this October.

It is the first in a planned roll-out of sites across London, with national expansion set to follow in 2018.

Doughnut Time will serve artisan doughnuts with pop-culture inspired flavours, such as the ‘Donutella Versace’ and the ‘Mint Eastwood’.

The store will be creating two retro British flavours to mark the opening, called ‘Love Actually’ and ‘Shawty, its Sherbet Day’. Classic best sellers will also be available, including the Nutella-filled ‘Love at First Bite’, and watermelon-flavoured ‘Melon DeGeneres’.

The London store also plans to open a ‘Doughnut Time Academy’ upstairs, where customers will be able to glaze and customise their own doughnuts.

There will be vegan and gluten-free options on offer, and prices will start at £4, with doughnuts available in boxes of one, four or six.

“We’re looking forward to introducing our modern and playful take on doughnuts to the British public,” says founder Damian Griffiths.

“We’re certain they’ll be at home here, as they are back in Australia.”

Doughnut Time began life as a tiny hole-in-the-wall store in Brisbane in 2015 and now runs more than 20 sites across Australia.

Ahead of the London opening the team will be driving their green vintage van around the capital, popping up at various locations that can be found on their Instagram @doughnuttime_uk.
