GBK founder to open new Covent Garden restaurant concept

Adam Wills, one of the founders of Gourmet Burger Kitchen, has acquired a bar near Covent Garden and plans to launch a new restaurant concept at the site.

Adam Wills founded casual dining chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen

Adam Wills, one of the founders of Gourmet Burger Kitchen (GBK), has acquired a bar near Covent Garden and plans to launch a new restaurant concept at the site.

 

The entrepreneur has obtained well-known gay bar The Box Bar on Seven Dials for an undisclosed sum.

 

Cedar Dean Gilmarc acted on behalf of Frank Kasynski in the disposal of the leasehold interest of the double fronted site on 32-34 Monmouth Street.

 

The former bar will be completely redesigned and is due to open in time for Christmas.

 

Details of what is planned for the site are scant, however it is understood that the restaurant will be a fast casual format.

 

Wills was one of the three founders of GBK who sold the concept to Clapham House Group for £10m in 2004.
